今年の夏至は６月２１日です。

The summer solatice of this year is on 21th June.

二十四節気の一つである夏至は、

６月２１日から７月７日頃を指します。

The summer solatice is one of the 24 seasons that refer to from 21th June to 7th July.

＊24 seasons means.24 divisions or terms of the solar year to mark transition of four seasons based upon the old East Asian (lunisolar) calendar

いまの時期は、夏至の一つ前の芒種

（ぼうしゅ）で、６月５日から２１日頃

を指し、米や麦などの穂の出る穀物の種

をまく時期を表しています。

This time of year is the Boshiyou just before the summer solstice, which is from June 5th to 21st, and represents the time to sow seeds of spiked grains such as rice and wheat.

二十四節気をさらに３つ（初侯・次候・

末候）にわけたものが七十二候であり、

気象や動植物の変化を知らせてくれます(^^)

The 24 seasons are further divided into three (first, second, and last), which are the 72 pentads, which inform you of changes in the weather and flora and fauna.

芒種は、

初候：蟷螂生（かまきりしょうず）

First:Kamakirishouzu

次候：腐草為螢（くされたるくさほたるとなる）

Second:Kusaretarukusahotaru

末候：梅子黄（うめのみきばむ）

Last:Umenomikibamu

に分けられます。

Be divided.

次候の「腐草為螢」は、草の中からホタルが

舞い、光を放ち始める頃。

昔の人は、草場からホタルが舞う様子を見て

枯れて腐った草がホタルになったと思ったんだそうですよ(^^)

People in the old days saw fireflies flying from the grass field and thought that the dead and rotten grass became fireflies.

私が育ったところは田舎だったので、

近くの田んぼ道でホタルを見ることができました。

I grew up in the countryside, so I could see fireflies on a nearby rice field road.

幼い頃、ホタルは勿論楽しみでしたが、

夜に外を出歩くことにドキドキしていた

のが懐かしい思い出です・・(*´ω｀)

Of course I was looking forward to fireflies when I was little, but I remember being afraid to go out at night and getting excited.

千葉市では緑区にある泉谷公園でホタルが

観察できるそうですよ♪

In Chiba,You can observe fireflies at Izumiya park in Midori ward.

あとは君津市にあるロマンの森共和国も

見られるそうです！

And You can watch it at Roman forest republic in KImitu city.

初夏の訪れを告げるホタルで、懐かしい

気持ちになったり、癒されるのもいいですね(^^)

It's good to feel nostalgic and healed by the fireflies that announce the arrival of early summer.
