2月3日は節分ですね！！

節分は「2月3日」と覚えている方も多いかもしれませんが、実は節分は必ずしも2月3日というわけではないのです。

本来節分とは、「立春」「立夏」「立秋」「立冬」と4つある季節の変わり目のことを言います。

中でも立春は、旧暦の1年の始まりにあたる日であり、厳しい冬を乗り越えて春を迎えることから、「節分」の中でも特にめでたい日とされてきたんですよ。

そのため、立春の前日にある「節分」は今でいう大晦日のことを指すようになりました。

大晦日に1年の邪気や悪いものを祓い、清めた状態で新しい1年を迎えるための儀式として行われるようになったのが、豆まきなどの「節分」の行事なのです。

節分の行事といえば・・・

February 3rd is Setsubun! !!

Many people may remember that Setsubun is "February 3rd", but in reality, Setsubun is not necessarily February 3rd.

Originally, Setsubun refers to the transition of four seasons: "Rising spring," "Rising summer," "Rising autumn," and "Rising winter."

Among them, Lichun is the beginning of the year of the lunar calendar, and since it has overcome the harsh winter and welcomes spring, it has been regarded as a particularly happy day in Setsubun.

Therefore, "Setsubun" on the day before the beginning of spring has come to refer to what is now called New Year's Eve.

On New Year's Eve, "Setsubun" events such as sowing beans have come to be held as a ritual to cleanse the evil and bad things of the year and welcome a new year in a clean state.

Speaking of Setsubun events ...

その1「豆まき」

元々「豆」は「魔を滅する」という意味の「魔滅」という漢字があてられることもあり、鬼を追い払うことができるとされていました。

そのため、「豆まき」は、厄を追い払うために行われます。

その2「恵方巻き」

恵方巻の「恵方」とは「吉方」とも呼ばれ、その方角には「歳徳神（としとくじん）」という神様がいるとされています。

この「歳徳神」という神様は、「その年の福徳をつかさどる神様」と言われており、祟り神が来ない最も縁起のいい方角だと言われていますよ。

今年は北北西を向いて、無言で食べましょう！！

This god called "Saintokujin" is said to be "the god who controls the good fortune of the year" and is said to be the most auspicious direction in which the tatarigami does not come.

その3「イワシの飾り」

鬼は、いわしの生臭いにおいと、ヒイラギの痛い棘が苦手だとされています。

そこで、「節分」には焼いてにおいを強くしたいわしの頭をヒイラギの枝に刺した飾りを、玄関先に飾るという風習がありますよ。

節分の行事は子供も楽しめるのでどれか一つでも取り入れてみたいですね(^^)/
